Speed II might be considered the parent of APPX - an advanced Fourth Generation Language (4GL) created for the Wang VS minicomputer just over 20 years ago. Thousands of users worldwide took advantage of the power of Speed II to create and run custom applications, or modify the Speed II Financials, and successfully ran their businesses on Speed II for many years.

Today, there are still a few hundred active Speed II sites around the world, although the vast majority have migrated their systems to APPX. An APPX migration is straightforward and smooth, and allows a Speed II customer to protect their many years of investment in custom software while moving to open platforms, gaining dramatically improved performance, and upgrading to newer, more efficient hardware.

Speed II customers are encouraged to contact their resellers, or talk to APPX Software directly, about the many benefits and minimal costs involved in migrating to APPX.
